If your pet decides to nibble on Kniphofia, serious consequences are not expected. However, as with any plant, it's best to keep flowers out of your pet's reach.
After purchase, trim 1–2 cm off the stem and place the Kniphofia in clean, room-temperature water. Change the water every 2–3 days and refresh the cut each time. Keep the vase away from direct sunlight, radiators, drafts, and ripening fruit. A tall, stable vase will support the long stem and help it keep its beautiful shape.
