It is not listed among toxic plants for cats and dogs. If an animal accidentally chews the leaves or cups, serious toxic effects are generally not expected, but as with any greenery, mild discomfort may occur if a large amount is ingested.

Flower care

After purchase, trim the stems by 1–2 cm and place the moluccella in a vase with cool, clean water. Change the water every 1–2 days and keep the flower away from direct sunlight, radiators, and drafts — in a cool place it will stay fresh and keep its shape longer.
