Celosia is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. However, if a pet decides to taste the flower, it may cause mild stomach discomfort.
After purchase, trim the stems by 1–2 cm and place celosia in clean, cool water. Change the water every 1–2 days and keep the flowers away from direct sunlight, radiators, and drafts — in cooler conditions, celosia keeps its freshness and velvety texture longer. Over time, its waves can become even fuller and fluffier. Even after drying, celosia often keeps its shape and color, so it can be enjoyed as a dried flower
